Care and Support Officer

Full-time, 35 hours per week

Branch Out Together is one of the primary providers of support for school age children with autism in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Our Holiday and Saturday Activity Programmes offer great opportunities for children and young people with autism and to get together and socialise, learning through playing together how to cope with a very confusing world. We also offer shorter opportunities for young people to learn and grow through Basecamp and Basecamp2 and Branch Out. Alongside this their families get a much needed break from caring. The Society was founded by parents and our families remain at the core of our planning and thinking. Working with them to provide the best care possible for their children remains key to our success.

We are looking for someone to fill a key role in the organisation. You will be responsible for overseeing a number of services, making sure they meet the needs of the children and young people who attend and their families and carers, and the expectations of commissioners, funders and regulatory bodies. You will be directly responsible for the delivery of an evening activity (one evening a week), a Saturday Activity Team (working on alternate Saturdays) and a Holiday Activity Programme during Edinburgh school breaks (with the exception of the Christmas holiday break). Operating under the guidance of the Care and Support Manager you will be responsible for making sure services run smoothly, efficiently and effectively.

You will need to have a good understanding of what it means to run services for vulnerable children, and a strong commitment to making life better for children and young people with autism and their families.

Pay: 29,302.00-32,723.00 per year
