At Hightown, we`re a housing charity thatbuilds homes and support people. Our registered care services providehigh-quality careand support to adults with learning and physical disabilities.

We are looking for some great new Support Workers to join our team who have the right values, behaviours, and attitudes to be the difference. We have a full and part time roles available.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic people who enjoy helping others and seeing the difference their support can make to others.

As a Support Worker you will be working as a part of a dedicated team, providing personal and personalised care and support, and assisting the residents to develop the skills needed to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

If you have previously worked in a care setting and have experience of providing support to vulnerable people, this role could be perfect for you. With relevant experience, you will have the ability to recognise the wishes of our service users and communicate with them effectively. Demonstrating respect for confidentiality and a caring attitude, you will also use your own initiative, carrying out practical and administrative tasks as and when required.

To apply you will need to be able to work shifts as part of a rota system. This will include evenings, weekend, and bank holiday working. You must be able to work as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we support and be flexible in your approach to work with a `can do` attitude. You will have a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with learning disabilities.

Experience of care and support work is preferred but it`s more important you have the right values and behaviours. Our values are:

We will give you all the training and support you need to do the role including a qualification in health and social care, if you don`t already have one.

About the Role

You will empower people to achieve their goals and develop their independent living skills by using your creativity, passion, and determination You will support them to get involved with the community and maintain relationships with their friends and families. You will support them to take part in activities.

You`ll joina strong, supportive teamwho are great communicators and able to engage with our residents who are mainly nonverbal or who have limited verbal communication skills. As part of the role, you will be required to provide personal care and support with eating and drinking. You will also be required to administer medication, write support plans and undertake risk assessments. It is a challenging but rewarding role where you can reallybe the differenceto someone`s life.
