Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in care homes or through home care services, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with clients to assist them in daily activities, helping them maintain their independence while following personalised care plans. Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients in daily living activities including meal preparation and medication management. Maintain accurate records of client care and progress in accordance with care plans. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport. Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Experience

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with creating and following care plans is advantageous. Proficiency in English is required for effective communication with clients and team members. Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining records and using care management software. A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients as needed. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
