Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in our nursing and residentaial care home. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care while ensuring the comfort and safety of our clients. The Care Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to assist with daily living activities and promote the well-being of individuals under their care.

Duties



Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment. Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patients with special needs, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or developmental disabilities. Maintain cleanliness and organization in patient care areas while adhering to aseptic techniques. Collaborate with nursing staff to implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills.

Experience


Candidates should possess a background in healthcare or caregiving with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Critical care experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers Long-term care or assisted living environments Hospital settings including emergency medicine, ICU, or acute care Home health care or hospice services Working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges Familiarity with medical terminology, EMR/EHR systems (such as Epic or Cerner), and medical documentation practices
Preferred qualifications include experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, phlebotomy, catheter care, and knowledge of physiology and anatomy. A commitment to providing compassionate care is essential for success in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 22 - 44 per week
