Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met. This role is vital in supporting individuals to maintain their independence and dignity while receiving the necessary assistance. We are looking for a afternoon care assistant shifts 14.00 - 20.00 18hr contract

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation. Support the implementation of care plans tailored to each resident's individual needs. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff. Foster a warm and supportive environment, encouraging residents to engage in social activities and maintain their independence. Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required. Drive residents to appointments or activities when necessary.

Experience

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting residents as needed. Strong communication skills in English are essential for interacting with residents and team members effectively. Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately is advantageous. A caring attitude combined with patience and empathy towards individuals in need of assistance is crucial.
