Bridge House is a purpose-built residential home, which provides home-from-home living for 16 residents with varying needs, including mild to moderate dementia.
As a care assistant, you will play a vital role to ensure a caring, safe and responsive environment for our residents. You will help maintain a fulfilling and meaningful life for each resident with dignity and respect.
You will facilitate the personal, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the residents in a supportive and encouraging manner. All while assisting their choices and helping to continue their independence.
Key responsibilities
Embody and practice outstanding care.
Follow care plans relating to individual needs and choices.
Help residents with personal cleanliness, regular exercise, diet and rest.
Provide physical assistance with washing, dressing, eating, and moving.
Administer medications, collaborating with external services, such as district nurses and the GP.
Encourage residents to make their own choices, and to participate in tasks that maintain their self-esteem and dignity.
Answer emergency call bells from residents.
Support residents needs through-out the night.
Help serve food to residents and assist with eating or drinking where necessary.
Use digital technology systems to evidence all care.
Provide effective handover meetings to ensure continuity of care.
Provide support to organise and store resident clothes.
Complete housekeeping tasks to include, cleaning and laundry duties.
Ensure all areas of the home are clean, tidy and free from risks.
Ensure the home is secure at night, and be vigilant of potential issues.
Attend meetings and training sessions.
Facilitate all external visits from a variety of visitors.

Qualifications & Experience
Required: 3+ years as a carer, or willing to learn the role.
Awareness of health & safety regulations.
Experienced with IT systems and other technology, or willing to learn.
Completed the Care Certificate qualification, or willing to complete.
Desirable: Diploma in Health and Social Care L2 or L3.
Desirable: Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable: A working knowledge of Health and Social Care Act 2008.
