Job Description

Care Assistant (twilight shifts, 4pm to 10pm) - Nightingale Care Home, Dungannon. Days to be confirmed. Nightingale Care Home is situated in a quiet, residential area of Dungannon, overlooking the Black Lough, close to local shops and public transport links. Purpose built, single storey nursing home providing General Nursing, Physical Disability and Mental Health services. Main Purpose of the Role To support and assist qualified staff in the planning and implementation of resident care, delivering care as prescribed by the individual\xe2\x80\x99s care plans.

1. Assist qualified staff with the implementation of individual resident care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all residents.

2. Provide practical support and responsive care to residents who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities, ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.

3. Observe and monitor the wellbeing of residents, ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/ the primary nurse on shift and documented as appropriate.

4. Develop and maintain a good professional relationship with residents, colleagues and visitors, responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
Experience Experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
