Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Co-ordinator to join our team in providing engaging and fulfilling activities for our residents in our 31 bed residential care home. The ideal candidate should have experience in delivering activities, preferably in senior care, including experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care, and will be responsible for creating a vibrant atmosphere that enhances the quality of life for our residents.

Responsibilities



To talk to residents, after admission, to create a social profile, encouraging family participation when required or requested Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and abilities of residents along with the Home Manager. Coordinate and facilitate group activities, outings, and events that promote social interaction, physical activity, and cognitive stimulation. Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities are aligned with the individual needs of residents. Maintain accurate records of resident participation. Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and staff through effective communication and engagement. Organise special events and celebrations that enhance community spirit within the care home. Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations while promoting a safe environment for all participants. Perform risk assessments and feasibility prior to an outing. To compile the residents monthly newsletter. Support with Moving & Handling (full training will be given) Support with residents personal comfort care needs (full training will be given) Alternating fortnightly shift pattern and would include at least one shift every other weekend

Qualifications



Previous experience in delivering activities in a care or similar setting is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members. A compassionate approach to caregiving with a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of seniors. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Creative thinking skills to develop innovative programmes that engage residents of varying abilities. Have a full UK driving licence

Pay: 12.50 per hour
