We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our care team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a care home environment and a strong understanding of food safety and meal preparation. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining the standards of our kitchen. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements of residents.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations
Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
Collaborate with care staff to ensure timely service at meal times
Monitor inventory levels and assist with food preparation as needed
Qualifications
Previous experience in a care setting is preferred
Strong knowledge of food safety practices, regulations and documentation
Experience with special dietary requirements, pureed diets and dysphagia is preferred.
NVQ Level 2 Food Safety.
Ability to perform meal preparation tasks efficiently and accurately
Excellent culinary skills with a passion for cooking
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
A team player who can help foster a positive kitchen atmosphere
Job Specifics
8am - 4.30pm with 30 minutes break. 4/5 Days a week on a 2 week rolling rota
