We are looking for someone to fill a full time role in a friendly, professional Care team.
WTB Solicitors LLP are a firm dedicated to legal aid and providing representation to the most vulnerable in society
We are seeking to recruit a motivated and capable individual to work with the team. The role will consist of assisting with case preparation, legal research, document management, processing evidence, initial enquiries, completing funding forms, client and witness contact, attending court and conferences as well as general administration.
Working closely with colleagues. advising clients in respect of casework we are specialists in representing tenants defending possession, injunction, unlawful eviction, disrepair, and homelessness cases.
This is a technical area of law working with vulnerable clients. The role will be best suited to a candidate planning a career in social welfare law.

Your role will include
Liaising with clients, third parties and referrers as well as internal teams in a courteous and helpful manner
Handling client queries & casework
Diary management, routine office tasks - photocopying / filing
Attending upon clients - first instructions & subsequently
Routine none-chargeable case work
File creation, data entry in the practice management system
Use of the legal aid CCMS system / Gaining an understanding of the legal id framework
File creation, data entry in the firms practice management system
Assisting a partner with his work on the housing possession court duty scheme
Taking instructions & drafting statements of evidence (several times per week).

You will have:
Excellent organisational skills and a self-motivated committed attitude
An ability to communicate clearly and good telephone manner
Use of initiative
Effective time management and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
A working knowledge of the areas of law or a demonstrable commitment to learning relevant law
Previous experience in a similar role.
