and committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and compliance. We are currently seeking a

Care Plan Writer & Compliance Officer

to help ensure our care remains tailored, safe, and fully compliant with UK legislation and best practice.

Role Summary:



This dual role is key to delivering personalised care and ensuring regulatory compliance across our care home. You will be responsible for creating and reviewing individualised care plans in line with assessed needs, and for leading on internal compliance monitoring to ensure ongoing readiness for CQC inspections and adherence to the

Health and Social Care Act 2008

(Regulated Activities). You will initially be based at Autumn House and will also work at The Moorings in West Cowes.

Key Responsibilities:

Care Plan Writing:

Develop, maintain and review

person-centred care plans

for each resident, reflecting their individual needs, preferences, medical conditions, and goals. Liaise with nurses, care staff, GPs, district nurses, and family members to ensure plans are accurate and holistic. Ensure all care plans are reviewed and updated regularly (e.g., monthly or following changes in health status). Monitor the quality of care documentation and support staff with record-keeping where required.
Compliance Oversight:

Monitor compliance with

CQC regulations, Fundamental Standards,

and company policies. Conduct regular internal

audits and spot checks

, addressing any non-conformance with action plans. Support the Registered Manager with

CQC inspection preparation

and ongoing compliance reporting. Keep up to date with changes in legislation and guidance, and cascade relevant updates to staff. Investigate incidents, support safeguarding processes, and ensure accurate recording of any notifiable events.

Person Specification:Essential:



Experience writing and reviewing care plans in a residential or nursing care home setting. Good understanding of

UK care regulations

, particularly CQC Fundamental Standards. Excellent attention to detail and confidence in producing written documentation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Strong understanding of

safeguarding

, person-centred planning, and risk assessment.

Desirable:



Qualification in Health and Social Care (Level 3 or above) or relevant nursing/care background. Experience conducting audits or overseeing compliance in a care environment. Working knowledge of electronic care planning systems (e.g., Nourish, Person Centred Software).
