Normanshire Care Services Ltd is seeking dedicated
full time Support Workers
to join our team at our Supported Living Service in Ilford. Our facility is committed to providing exceptional care and support for adults with learning disabilities and associated mental illnesses, including conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome etc.
We are currently looking for two groups of people, once who can speak Eastern European Language and second who can speak Asian language.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview:
As a Care Worker at Normanshire Care Services Ltd, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to our residents. You will work closely with individuals with diverse needs, ensuring their well-being and safety are prioritized at all times.
Duties:
1. Provide personalized care and support based on individual service plans and person-centered principles.
2. Implement behaviour management strategies and positive support plans as needed.
3. Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks to ensure a safe environment.
4. Develop detailed Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) for vulnerable residents.
5. Familiarize yourself with service contracts, including hours and management responsibilities.
6. Handle complaints effectively, using feedback to drive continuous service improvement.
7. Supervise, manage, and train staff members according to established standards and procedures.
8. Monitor agency staff usage in alignment with budgets and contracts.
9. Establish a pool of flexible workers to minimize reliance on agency staff.
10. Conduct audits to enhance service quality and ensure adherence to policies.
11. Perform regular direct observation sessions with staff members.
12. Manage financial transactions within the service, including budget monitoring and petty cash handling.
13. Conduct routine checks on petty cash transactions (if applicable).
14. Address actions identified in health and safety audits within specified timeframes.
15. Implement safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults effectively.
16. Facilitate service user consultation events within the facility.
17. Operate within the guidelines of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs) where applicable.
18. Maintain a training matrix to track staff training needs comprehensively.
19. Provide line management for a team of 6-7 staff members, conducting regular supervisions.
20. Support the implementation of Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) or CQC action plans for excellent inspection outcomes.
21. Establish effective medication support procedures if relevant to the service.
22. Develop business continuity plans and emergency evacuation protocols for the facility.
23. Deliver direct care and support to residents as required, working shifts including nights when necessary.
24. Participate in 'On Call' services if needed.
Skills:
- Experience in behaviour management
- Knowledge of care practices
- Familiarity with nursing home or senior care environments
- First aid certification
- Background in childcare or dementia care
- Ability to provide person-centered care
- Proficiency in heavy lifting tasks
This is a full-time permanent position that requires on-site work at our care home.
