South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex.

We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex. We have 414 beds with the recent opening of a new Nursing home in central Worthing. Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours - day and night, for long and short-term stays.

We are recruiting a Team Leader at our residential home Rookwood in Burgess Hill, on a Fixed Term Contract for up to one year

Hours - 36hrs, will include every other weekend

In this role you will be supporting the Manager with the organisation and day-to-day supervision of the care team to ensure all people using the service are treated with dignity and respect and the highest standards of care are achieved.

You will also support in the development the care team by mentoring, supervising and assessing competency and to communicate any concerns with the Manager

Responsibilities

To maintain high standards of patient care ensuring the health and safety and welfare of all residents. To champion patient choice and autonomy. To ensure that all staff work in a dignified and respectful way to all who live and work in the home. To act as a liaison between the senior/care team and the Welfare Liaison and Manager to ensure the smooth flow of information so all teams are working efficiently and collaboratively. Support and assist in managing the care team when on duty. Working in collaboration with the senior(s) on shift to manage all aspects of the day with clear communication.

Essential:



NVQ level 3 or above in Health and Social Care Experience in a similar role Experience of coordinating, mentoring, and guiding a small team. To be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written Previous experience in geriatric, frailty, end of life and dementia care.

Highly Desirable

Experience of inducting and supporting new staff Excellent reporting skills both verbal and non-verbal

Hands on in their approach and a can-do attitude An ability to think on your feet and under pressure when dealing with multiple task Good communication skills and the ability to get on with people but be able to act with confidence when dealing with residents, residents' families, and managers A problem solver and solution provider as well as being a quick learner Has high professional and moral standards
