Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role requires a blend of patience, empathy, and practical skills to support clients with diverse needs, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Monitor and document clients' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary. Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient care practices, including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care is essential. Relevant qualifications in nursing or caregiving are an advantage. First aid certification is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is beneficial for transporting clients when needed.
