Are you passionate about helping young people to achieve their full potential?

We are looking to recruit a Career Coach to join our team. You will provide impartial information and advice for young people aged 15-24, with the aim of broadening career horizons, this will include one to one and group work activities in our offices in Oldham and Rochdale and in other local community settings. This role includes supporting the personal development of young people and supporting them in their decision-making process. A Career Coach will apply innovative coaching methods and approaches to engage and support young people. The role also includes working to both quantitative and qualitative targets and establishing effective relationships with schools, colleges, learning providers, employers and key partners.

You would be expected to travel throughout Oldham and Rochdale and the role may include some home working.

JOB PURPOSE



To a range of career coaching and support services for young people and/or adults

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Maintain a caseload of clients to provide a range of information, advice, support and advocacy services to improve outcomes Maintain a caseload of clients in line with relevant legislation, quality standards and best practice to safeguard the service Maintain strong relationships with partners to improve outcomes for clients Coordinate delivery and activities for young people to meet the needs of clients and improve Education Employment and Training outcomes Apply Co-production principles to ensure the users voice is represented Undertake accurate, timely recording on digital caseload management system to meet contract requirements Apply the consistent application of all relevant policies and procedures including safeguarding, health & safety and equality & diversity to ensure a compliant service Undertake any other duties in order to meet service and organisational objectives following consultation with your manager

Experience



Demonstrable experience of working with young people or adults Demonstrable experience of developing productive and effective relationships with young people or adults Demonstrable experience of planning, monitoring and evaluating your own work Demonstrable experience of multi agency working Demonstrable experience of communicating through verbal and written presentations Demonstrable success in promoting diversity

Knowledge



Understanding of Education and Guidance Services Understanding of safeguarding legislation and guidance, implementation of Child Protection Procedures and the boundaries of professional relationships Awareness of the role of education and guidance in adolescent development Awareness of the impact of education and guidance to improve life opportunities Understanding of Health & Safety legal requirements and best practice

Skills



Primary communication and presentational skills Primary skills in creativity and original thinking with the ability to develop practical solutions to problems Developed inter -personal and team working skills Developed skills in Microsoft Office and database systems Primary ability to engage individuals and partners Basic literacy and numeracy skills
