Job Description

The Academy of Live Technology is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between industry and education, working closely with leading professionals to respond quickly to current skills shortages and deliver degree programmes in line with specific demands.

In this role, you'll deliver tailored one-to-one and group career coaching and equip learners with the tools to thrive in a competitive job market. You'll be key at critical stages of the learner journey, working closely with the Project Manager and Senior Leadership Team to ensure every learner achieves positive career outcomes. You'll also help refine internal systems, support progression tracking, and collaborate across team to deliver a joined-up learner experience from first contact to progression.

The Careers Advisor (UK Training & Short Courses) plays a key role in delivering high-quality, learner-centred careers and pastoral support to individuals enrolled on funded and commercial training programmes. With a focus on maximising learner progression and positive outcomes, the post-holder will empower learners through tailored one-to-one and group interventions.

This includes supporting career planning and toolkit (e.g., CV, portfolio, LinkedIn) development, job search strategies, interview preparation and wider professional skills. Working collaboratively with the Project Manager, Senior Leadership and Student Experience teams, the role also contributes to the continuous improvement of systems and processes, ensuring a seamless and supportive learner journey from enquiry through to employment.

Roles and Responsibilities:



Learner-Facing Support:



Deliver tailored career and pastoral support through one-to-one and group sessions, progress reviews, career exploration and targeted coaching aligned with individual learner's goals Build learner confidence and employability by supporting CV and portfolio development, strengthening interview skills and developing professional behaviours Drive career progression by supporting transitions between roles, securing promotions and negotiating employment terms, as well as matching learners to employer opportunities Connect learners with industry through organised interviews, employer introductions, job board updates and sharing relevant sector insights and opportunities

Conversion Management and Market Alignment:



Accurately track learner progress and outcomes using internal CRM systems Meet agreed KPIs, ensuring targets for Milestones 2 & 3 are achieved or exceeded Use labour market insights to keep coaching relevant, align resources with learner goals and support targeted employer engagement and programme development Collaborate across teams by sharing learner feedback, identifying employer opportunities and shaping progression pathways based on industry trends and learner needs

Resource Development & Contribution:



Develop and maintain a bank of high-quality resources and toolkits to enhance learner experience and maximise the impact of coaching time Contribute to internal and external communications such as marketing emails and learner newsletters, sharing career insights, opportunities, success stories, and skills-building resources Collaborate with the wider team to ensure resources and communications are aligned with the needs of learners, employer partners and the Academy's strategic goals

Quality, Compliance & Ofsted Preparation



Safeguard and support learners by upholding Prevent Duty responsibilities, maintaining regular training, embedding best practices and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment Drive quality and compliance by aligning coaching with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF), supporting Ofsted readiness, maintaining accurate learner records and evidencing impact Champion continuous improvement through internal audits, learner feedback and quality assurance activities

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS



The post-holder will occasionally be expected to work evenings and weekends when required, with time off in lieu.

The post-holder will occasionally be required to travel to other teaching locations around the UK, with work related expenses paid.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 25,500.00-30,000.00 per year

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
