We have an exciting opportunity for a Careers Lead & IQA to join the team at Grace Garden School, Bristol.
As the named Careers Lead, the post holder is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the school's careers programme; coordinating the delivery of career guidance; and building strong relationships with employers, colleges, training providers and other external partners. You will ensure that students understand the full range of opportunities available to them and are supported to make informed decisions about their next steps. This includes identifying, developing and maintaining outstanding work experience and education partnerships that enable sustainable transitions into further education, training or employment.
Alongside this, the post holder acts as the Internal Quality Assurer and is responsible for ensuring the standardisation, verification, registration and certification of accredited programmes. This includes, where appropriate, supporting assessors to develop the resources, methods and systems required for delivering and assessing holistic, differentiated and inclusive programmes of learning.
You will need to:
Identify and engage a range of suitable educational providers, employers and organisations to secure meaningful next steps and placements for pupils
Lead on the development, implementation and sustainability of supported internships and other initiatives leading to employment.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to create a pathway to help the pupil develop in line with their destination goals
Record pupil progress and to manage the quality assurance of the placements
To support teachers in planning and documenting realistic and meaningful accredited pathways which meet the need of the student and are consistent with the Ruskin Mill Trust method.
To implement internal quality assurance of submitted portfolios
To ensure the accurate record keeping and tracking of student progress through qualifications and qualification units within the management information system.
You must have:
Hold a Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice or willingness to gain such qualification in a reasonable period of time.
Ideally hold QTS QTLS or a Level 3 in assessment
Experience or willingness to train as an Exams Officer to support the work of the Exams Officer at the school
A team player with experience of working with young people with SEND
Excellent interpersonal, customer service and relationship building skills.
The ability to build highly effective and productive relationships both internally and externally with employers and other key stakeholders.
