In this role, you'll be responsible and accountable for:
1. Providing a high quality service to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need and is outcomes driven.
2. Delivering interventions to children, young people or families on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting, with appropriate direction.
3. Maintaining effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues and with children, young people and families and where necessary encourage and promote involvement to achieve positive outcomes
4. Being alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers of concerns in line with safeguarding policies and procedures
5. Attending and actively participating in relevant multi-agency meetings.
6. Being responsible for organising achievement of work objectives on a daily basis, including both pre and forward planning.
7. Retaining accurate and contemporaneous records, using various IT systems to capture case details, outputs and outcomes as necessary and to produce written reports and present these as necessary.
8. Guiding, directing or line managing staff and volunteers where necessary.
9. Ensuring familiarity and compliance with relevant Action for Children policies and procedures
Qualifications and training
1.
General education
2.
S/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. (may need to be specific to client group; e.g. Early years/youth work/mental health etc.)
Skills, knowledge and experience
1.
Experience of working in a health, early years or social care setting.
2.
Experience of working as part of a team or as an individual to deliver a frontline service.
3.
Experience of preparing clear and concise file notes and inputting information into office systems
4.
Experience of preparing, organising, reviewing and delivering individual and or group work
5.
Ability to keep children and young people as the focus of all work and ensure the child's feelings and wishes are represented in meetings and record keeping
6.
Ability to engage and work with children, young people and their families, demonstrating a range of communication skills i.e. written, verbal applied in a variety of formats and situations.
7.
An awareness and an ability to identify and act upon safeguarding concerns with clients and to follow agreed reporting procedures.
8.
A working knowledge of working with an outcome based approach to planning, delivering and reviewing services.
9.
Ability to identify and assess individual and family needs.
10.
Ability to manage and prioritize own work schedule within agreed timescales.
11.
Ability and willingness to work to promote equality and an inclusive agenda within the workplace.
12.
Ability to undertake home /site visits ensuring compliance with lone working policies and procedures
13.
Demonstrable flexibility to work to meet the needs of the service and client group.
14.
Demonstrates commitment to personal development and undertaking relevant training
15.
Ability to effectively utilise Microsoft Outlook and other IT packages
