Job Description

We are looking for a personal assistant to help support a young man who has learning difficulties, mental health issue, an acquired brain injury, epilepsy and physical limitations.

Must be reliable with good time keeping. Must be over 25 for insurance purposes with a clean full driving licence.

Motivation, enthusiasm and patience will be needed in this post, as well as being able to deal with challenging behaviour in a calm manner.

The successful candidate must be able to speak clear English, as good verbal communication is essential.

You must be able to work in a small team to provide personal cares, which include; washing/shower, dressing, medication administration and cream. Money management, outreach within the community, household tasks. You must be able to also follow the house rules and be able to cook basic meals.

Your client will need to be prompted where possible to be independent in his home as well as the community.

The successful candidate must be able to support the client with his dog.

You must be trustworthy and be able to work within a family environment.

Care experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
