Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Caregiver to join our team at Breaksea Residential Homes Limited. In this role, you will provide essential support to our residents, contributing to their daily living activities and enhancing their quality of life. Your compassionate approach will be vital in creating a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents' health conditions. Provide companionship and emotional support to residents. Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including dementia care.

Requirements

Experience in home care or caregiving is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration and first aid practices. Understanding of medical terminology related to senior care. Compassionate nature with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility.

We are currently recruiting for 24hr part time night care assistant position. The shift pattern is 12 hour night shift from 20:00hrs to 08:00hrs. There is always the opportunity to pick up extra shifts if required. You will be expected to take part in a rota and work alternate weekends. We welcome applications from both men and women. Please state on your application if you are looking for full time or part time hours.

Preferably you will have a least a QCF/NVQ 2 in care (or working toward it) - but this is not essential, you will be provided with the opportunity to receive on the job training in order to gain this level. You will also be required to eventually register with Social Care Wales. Your passion and attitude towards providing care for people is as important to us as the qualification. We ask that you treat people with care, compassion, dignity and respect; basically, as you would your own family. The position will be predominantly nights but this may change depending on the needs of the business.

Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to individuals with necessary activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Complete necessary recording paperwork
- Assist with mobility and transfers
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals

Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic caregiving techniques and principles
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
