Location: Hybrid, home working with travel across South or North Devon and occasional attendance at Westbank, Exminster

Salary: 26,551.98 pro rata (32,747.44 FTE)

Contract: Permanent

Westbank is a long-standing, award-winning charity at the heart of Devon. From our Healthy Living Centre in Exminster, we deliver a wide range of services that promote health, wellbeing, and independence. Devon Carers, part of Westbank, provides statutory carers' services on behalf of Devon County Council - ensuring unpaid carers are supported, recognised, and heard.

We are looking for two Locality Carers Support Managers to join our Carers Support Management (CSM) team. In this role, you will lead and manage a team of Carer Support Officers, ensuring services are delivered to a high standard and meet the statutory responsibilities delegated under the Care Act 2014.

Your day will include:



Leading, supporting, and developing a locality team of Carer Support Officers. Overseeing assessments, support planning and reviews for unpaid carers. Managing performance, risk, and quality assurance within your team. Using data and analysis to monitor outcomes and drive service improvements. Working in partnership with colleagues, Devon County Council, the NHS, and community organisations. Promoting Westbank and Devon Carers services across your locality.

You will bring:



Knowledge and experience of working in Adult Social Care Qualifications - NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or willingness to participate in training to achieve this qualification. Excellent knowledge/understanding of legislation affecting carers. Experience of working in a role involving provision of assessment and/or direct support and liaison with external/other agencies. Good knowledge/understanding of health and social care services/provision, including voluntary sector organisations and provision. Relevant knowledge/understanding of carers and their issues, and the ability to empathise with their needs. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues both verbally and in writing. Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels and inspire confidence in others. Ability to lead others in the development of solutions to complex issues. Ability to plan and manage work to deadlines with good attention to detail, showing flexibility and responsiveness to changing circumstances. Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to change programmes. Excellent administration, organisational and record-keeping skills. Experience of gathering, recording and updating confidential information accurately in accordance with GDPR, Equality and Diversity regulations Car driver/owner (or otherwise able to satisfy, with appropriate adjustments, requirements for travel associated with the role). Ability/willingness to work flexibly (including occasional evenings/weekends). Good keyboard and IT skills, including use of MS Office packages.
