Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role involves a variety of tasks, including the fabrication and installation of structures, ensuring that all work meets safety and quality standards. The Carpenter will be responsible for both interior and exterior projects, contributing to the overall success of our construction efforts.

Responsibilities



Interpreting blueprints and drawing up plans to determine materials required and a plan of action. Measuring, cutting, shaping, and smoothing lumber and other construction materials. Constructing building frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes. Ensuring structures are level, square, and securely assembled. Installing features such as doors, cabinets, stairs, and panelling. Inspecting and replacing damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures. Managing construction materials, tools, and equipment. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety and health regulations.

Skills



Capacity of operating tools and machinery such as saws, drills, and sanders. Ability to use levelling devices to ensure accurate installation of structures. Communication skills of collaborating with other construction professionals such as electricians, plumbers, and architects to ensure specifications are met. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Ability to modify building materials and create custom cabinetry or other detailed architectural or furniture items. Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in basic mathematics and measurement conversion. Excellent customer service skills. Multilingual ability, i.e. English and Bengali/Hindi/Urdu.

Qualification:



A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry or a related field. Knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and engineering is beneficial. Experience of working under seasoned carpenters can be crucial.
