The role is based within our Exhibition & Spatial Design workshop working alongside a team of designers, project managers, builders and carpenters. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the preparation and building of event, exhibition and spatial installations both inside and outside or a similar trade background utilising carpentry, painting and finishing skills.

Main duties:
To undertake workshop duties such as preparation and building of temporary structures using a full range of tools for carpentry, painting, covering flats and finishing skills.
To organise and prepare kit relevant for each project referring to technical drawings.
To liaise with internal designers, project managers and warehouse managers on how to implement the most efficient and effective method of preparing kit to meet deadlines.
To participate in the loading and unloading of vehicles as equipment, exhibition stands, and sets leave and return to the workshop.
Attend site to support the build and de-rig of sets/stands when necessary to the highest standard and to the client's specification.
Working within health and safety regulations at all times within the workshop and on site.
Share best practice and the support the wider team through discussion, training and practical demonstration.
To cooperate with weekend rotas where necessary and holiday cover.
The person
Ideally have experience of building exhibition stands and event structures.
Practical experience and knowledge of construction methods i.e., carpentry, painting and finishing.
Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings.
Good understanding of Health & Safety practices within a workshop and on-site.
Ability to participate in loading and unloading of vehicles with frequent heavy lifting of sets and equipment and assisting on site with re-construction tasks.
Some previous or similar experience of working within a workshop/warehouse.
Forklift experience although training could be provided.
Good multitasker with flexible and pro-active attitude.
Excellent attention to detail who takes pride in their work.
Flexibility with working hours as there is some weekend working delivering projects.
Driving licence required as there is working away on site when required.
An interest in live events/exhibitions and installations.
The role comes with several opportunities for overtime due to the nature of the industry also.
Starting salary is from 30k and is dependent on experience
