Job Summary

Carpet fitter / floor layer
We are seeking a skilled carpet fitter /Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation, including the ability to work with various materials and techniques. This role requires proficiency in using both power and hand tools, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes. The Floor Layer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining different types of flooring in residential and commercial settings.

Responsibilities

Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately. Install various types of flooring, including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet. Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or applying adhesives as necessary. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine layout specifications. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and painters to ensure seamless project completion. Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the installation process. Troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation and make necessary adjustments.

Experience

Proven experience as a carpet fitter / Floor Layer or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in flooring installation is essential. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
