We are seeking to recruit a Youth Justice Service Case Manager with a relevant professional qualification, such as Youth Justice, Criminology, Social Work, or Education, to join the Youth Justice Service in Swindon.


The Youth Justice Service is a multi-disciplinary team who works with Children and Young People aged 10-17 years who have come into contact with the Police and are subject to a range of interventions such as Out of Court Disposals, Community and Custody Disposals.


We are looking for an experienced, committed and highly motivated staff member with a high level of skill and knowledge base to join our multi-disciplinary service in order to help us continue to deliver an effective service.

Your next role

In this role you will assess, plan, deliver, review and enforce both diversion pathways and statutory interventions with children and young people, to help develop a positive self-identity and reduce their likelihood of offending, risk of serious harm and safety and well-being concerns.


You will work with a diverse caseload, encompassing both pre and post court work using targeted and creative intervention. You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes for children through multi-agency working.


This role will see you writing reports (such as Referral Order reports and Breach reports); carrying out high quality assessments using the Asset-plus system and the YJB Prevention and Diversion Assessment tool. Training on these assessment tools and the associated case management system will be provided if needed.


You will also undertake office and Court duties alongside case management responsibilities to support the team, safeguard children and the wider community and promote positive outcomes.


You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
