We are now seeking an organised and motivated

Case Worker & Medical Secretary

to join our team. This hybrid role combines case management responsibilities (three days per week) with secretarial support to our Company Director and Forensic Psychiatrist (two days per week).

Role Purpose



This dual role is ideal for someone with strong organisational and communication skills who enjoys working in varied administrative capacities. You will help manage a caseload of expert witness instructions while also providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to our clinical lead.

Full training and induction will be provided.

Key Responsibilities



Case Work (Approx. 3 Days per Week)



Manage and coordinate expert witness cases from instruction through to report completion. Liaise with solicitors, clients, and expert witnesses to ensure smooth case progression, including preparing quotations. Prepare, proofread, and manage case-related documents, including letters and reports. Ensure compliance with company processes, confidentiality, and GDPR requirements. Maintain up-to-date records within the case management system. Support business initiatives by contributing to process improvement or special projects.

Medical Secretarial Support (Approx. 2 Days per Week)



Act as the first point of contact for patients via phone and email with professionalism and empathy. Manage appointment bookings, cancellations, and diary coordination for the psychiatrists. Type and format medical letters, clinic notes, and reports from draft or dictation. Prepare correspondence for GPs, referrers, insurers, and other professionals. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in line with GDPR and clinical governance standards. Assist with administrative compliance, safeguarding, and data protection procedures.

Person Specification



Essential



Previous experience in administrative, secretarial, and/or case management roles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail. Strong IT and digital literacy (Microsoft Office, practice management or CRM systems). Exceptional organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage deadlines. Professional, empathetic, and discreet approach. Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass a

Standard DBS check

Desirable



Experience in medico-legal, legal, and/or healthcare environments. Knowledge of psychiatric or mental health and medical terminology. Familiarity with medical confidentiality, GDPR, and safeguarding requirements. AMSPAR or equivalent medical secretary qualification.
