At The University of Law, we're transforming legal education and reshaping student experiences with passion and purpose. We're now looking for a

Casework Manager

to join our Quality Assurance and Academic Standards team and lead the way in managing student casework with integrity, empathy, and professionalism.


This is a 12-month fixed term contract covering a period of maternity leave. This role adopts our homeworkingpersona, meaning you'll work remotely and will need to be based within the UK.


What you'll be doing:



You'll be responsible for conducting formal investigations into student complaints and appeals, ensuring every case is handled sensitively and fairly. With your expert knowledge of policy and regulation, you'll support our student experience through transparent case outcomes, and provide guidance to both staff and students on University procedures. Working closely with the Head of Student Casework, you'll also help shape improvements, monitor trends, and liaise with external bodies such as the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA).


As our Casework Manager, you will be:




Conducting investigations and writing detailed reports in line with University and OIA frameworks. Acting as a key advisor on student complaints processes. Supporting regulatory compliance and preparing reports for committees. Contributing to improvements in policies and practices. Deputising for the Head of Student Casework when required.

We are looking for people who are/have:




You're someone who thrives in a high-trust, professional environment. You bring a proactive approach to complex problem-solving and are known for your organisational flair and analytical thinking. Ideally, you'll have experience managing casework in a higher education setting and working with sensitive and complex student issues.


A degree or equivalent experience Awareness of Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) Strong knowledge of casework, complaints, and appeals handling. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confidence working independently and collaboratively.
