Description

Our client in Docklands is seeking an experienced Treasury Assistant with strong double entry skills to act as their cover Cash Management/Banking and Treasury functions for multiple Bank Accounts for a period of approximately 9 months.

The cashier is primarily responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the reported balances for all the business bank accounts. Ensuring that all transactions are processed according to approved standards and laid down company procedures; safeguarding business working capital by enforcing controls; meeting daily, weekly and monthly deadlines for treasury reporting to management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely recording of all in-coming and outgoing funds for the business:
  • Posting and allocating receipts by BACS or Cheque on Accounts Receivable; Updating the General Ledger with transactions on the bank statement on a daily basis; Investigating and clearing any unknown receipts paid into the current account; Updating and matching the Accounts payable ledger with direct debit payments made out of the account
  • Updating and matching the payables ledger with manual payments made (payments made outside normal payment run cycles)
  • Management of Cash Accounting process for various departments within the Company
  • Manual Payments requisition process Managing the Credit Card Refund process to ensure that laid down procedures and controls are followed; Administering cheques and other manual payment requisition process
  • BACS runs and other automated payments system
  • Managing the bi-monthly BACS process by preparing the payment batches and front sheets; Monitoring BACS headroom and scheduling payment to ensure we stay within the limits
  • Provide support on all areas of the Purchase Ledger during busy periods and for holiday cover
To apply you must have a good working knowledge of accounting/finance systems. Possess the ability to use Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Excel to a high standard.

You should be numerate, highly organized, able to meet strict deadlines, and prioritize. You will have a few year experience within a finance department, having worked extensively with bank reconciliations previously. Double-entry skills are essential.
