About the School

In the School of Art we specialise in making, curating and writing about contemporary art in a dynamic, critical and interdisciplinary environment. We have a world-leading reputation, and work with a network of artists, curators, galleries and museums both in London and internationally to create an inspiring and dynamic place in which to study and develop an artistic practice. Many graduates of the School are among the most recognised names working in art today.

About the Role

We are looking for two talented and creative individuals to join our highly skilled team in our world-class Sculpture - Casting Art Practice Area. You will provide teaching and technical support to enable students to realise their ideas across a wide range of physical/digital making processes and applications in a large and fully-equipped casting workshop.

About the Candidates

You will have in-depth knowledge and experience of various fabrication techniques in casting, mould-making and modelling including: waste and piece moulding; flexible moulding (hot melt and cold cure); plaster forming (running and turning); and fabrication.

A degree (or equivalent) from an art background is essential. You will have a proven track record of working as an Art Practice Tutor. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to use initiative in the performance of your duties, to co-ordinate, plan and prioritise work, work without close supervision, work flexibly and be willing to work as part of a team and have the ability to adapt to new technologies and to self-skill where appropriate.

Benefits

We have generous benefits - an agile working environment, 28 days' annual leave plus 6 paid closure days (4 at Christmas and 2 at Easter) plus all Bank Holidays, great transport links, a defined benefit pension scheme, support for professional development, and a broad range of wellbeing initiatives such as staff choir, running club, and creative writing classes.
