Calderdale Council are a dynamic and security-focused organisation committed to ensuring the safety and smooth operation of our facilities and the public we serve. We are currently seeking a vigilant and professional CCTV and Radio Operator to join our security and control room team at The Shay Stadium on a match or event day.

The purpose of the CCTV and Radio Operator role is to support the safety, security, and operational efficiency of the organisation by monitoring surveillance systems and maintaining clear communication with field teams. The role involves observing and assessing live CCTV footage to detect and report suspicious behaviour, coordinating responses to incidents via radio communication, maintaining accurate logs, and ensuring all activities comply with legal and regulatory standards. The operator plays a vital part in incident response, emergency support, and the day-to-day management of site safety and security.

The ideal candidate will be highly observant, calm under pressure, and confident in making quick, informed decisions. They should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to relay clear and accurate information via radio and written reports.

Previous experience in a control room, security, or similar environment is highly desirable, along with a good understanding of data protection and confidentiality protocols. Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends, is also essential.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
