A Casual Kitchen Assistant is required at Lord Hardy Court Residential Home on a casual basis.
Lord Hardy Court provides care to 60 older people, with a range of individual needs, and Mental Health problems including Dementia. The home also provides Respite and learning disabilities care support and Hospital avoidance beds joint working with NHS.
Applicants ideally need the following qualifications:
NQF Level 1 qualification e.g. GCSEs Grades A*-C, NVQs Level 1, GNVQs Intermediate, City and Guilds Craft or Part 2,
Or
Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
Casual kitchen assistants are expected to contribute to the provision of a comfortable, stimulating homely environment, that meets Fundamental Standards of health and Safety and Dignity in Care Principles, also to contribute and develop a customer focused service that is responsive and flexible with regard to all customer needs.
Key Duties/Areas of Responsibility:
Obtain accurate numbers of people who require meals on a daily basis
Take into consideration the food budget when planning menus and preparing food by supporting cook on duty.
Order provisions, prepare, cook and serve meals in accordance with approved menu patterns, recipes, procedures and portion guidelines, including packed lunches where applicable, supporting cook on duty.
Make sure that food is properly stored at all times and stock rotation and stock control is monitored and maintained on a planned program
Check and record all food and equipment temperatures
Work alongside Cook in charge.
Make sure that dining areas are set up to serve meals and cleared afterwards
Keep records for all orders, deliveries, stocks and usage of all goods in the kitchen by supporting cook on duty.
