Casual Minibus Drivers

Job Description

Team Sunderland are looking to increase their pool of drivers, with flexible hours available throughout the week, and weekends.



The role involves driving the Team Sunderland Minibus in compliance with current University policies and procedures, providing an exemplary customer service to passengers including students, sports teams and staff. You will need to have a clean driving license D1 unrestricted, and ideally posses MIDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) Classifications. With previous experience of driving minibuses or similar, you will have knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and record keeping.


Routes include Sunderland City, as well as opportunities to travel further afield with Team Sunderland.

Duties:



Driving University of Sunderland's vehicles. Responsible for the health and safety, comfort, and welfare of its passengers. Carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks, and to carry out basic maintenance. Reporting any vehicle defects, faults, incidents, and accidents to the appropriate person. Ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use. Refuelling vehicles as required. Maintaining company image; working attire should be worn at all times and kept in a clean and tidy condition. Working within health and safety guidelines and other guidelines that may be issued. To be at all times fit to drive and operate vehicles.

Customer service



To be a passionate advocate of the University. To communicate positively about the University and its students. To promote events, activities, and services available to students. To share feedback on students' issues and feedback on services.

Compliance



To act in compliance with University of Sunderland policies and procedures. To act in compliance with road and passenger safety, legislation, and guidance. To act in compliance with University of Sunderland insurance requirements.

Other



Help our elected Officers achieve their manifesto commitments. Be enthusiastic advocates for student leadership and the organisation's values. To actively engage in student-facing projects and activities of all kinds as required. Be administratively self-supporting. Maintain own professional networks. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post. May be required to work some weekends and evenings. Working within the constraints and guidelines as set out in the Minibus Drivers Handbook.
