Casual Porter Driver - North Devon District Hospital
Pay: 12.51 per hour
Hours: 8 hours within a 24-hour period
Days: 5 out of 7 per week (including weekends on rotation)

About the Role
We're looking for a reliable and motivated Casual Porter Driver to join our Portering & Support Services team at North Devon District Hospital.
You'll play a key part in keeping the hospital running smoothly -- safely transporting patients, equipment, and materials across the site, while ensuring a professional and caring service for everyone you assist.
No two days are the same, and your role will involve driving duties as well as general portering tasks around the hospital.
Main Responsibilities
Safely transport patients, equipment, and materials within the hospital.
Drive and maintain hospital vehicles -- carrying out regular checks and reporting any defects.
Deliver post, specimens, medical records, and supplies across departments.
Assist with moving and handling duties (full training provided).
Maintain a clean, safe working environment and comply with all infection control procedures.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
What We're Looking For
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Physically able to carry out moving and handling tasks.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Previous portering or NHS experience is desirable but not essential -- full training will be provided.
Flexible and reliable, with a professional approach to work.
