12.26 - 14.39 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
This position will work for Kinetic on a casual basis to support cover in our projects across Kent (Rochester and Bronzefield prisons) and London (Feltham).
Job Summary:
The post holder will support out projects across specific areas in the UK. They will be responsible for the delivery of various programmes of youth and community work across the Kinetic portfolio in line with Kinetic Youth policies and procedures.
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team of Casual Youth and community Workers. You will support and assist in activities for children, young people and adults we work with across our projects within prisons.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
Delivery of peer mentoring courses, 1:1 support, groupwork activities and projects as directed
Delivery of a comprehensive face to face curriculum programme of work to children, young people and adults with effective planning and evaluation of the programme's delivery
Delivery of 1:1 support to children and people who may be struggling to engage positively in education and other positive activities
Provide practical support to children, young people and adults where they remain at the centre of our practice and their voices are listened to and understood. This could be in prison, school, their home or other community settings.
Provide written reports, sessions recordings or RADAR after each intervention, outlining support provided, any concerns, strengths, achievements and advice given.
Raise any safeguarding concerns to your line manager and ensure they are reported the same day. Completing Kinetic IR processes.
Punctual and regular time keeping
Communicate effectively with colleagues and partners
Provide timely, accurate and relevant management information as required
Comply with Kinetic policies which support equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice
Special Conditions:
Enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.
If working within the prison environment HMPPS vetting will be undertaken.
Willingness to cover sessions at the last minute to support sickness at projects.
Ability/willingness to travel from location to location, including out of borough travel.
May include lone working within an appropriate setting, including prisons, secure children's homes, families' homes, schools, and community settings. Working outside normal office hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
Qualifications
Experience working with children, young people or adults in various settings
Strong mentoring and youth work skills
Background in teaching or educational support
Knowledge of informal education practices and strategies
Ability to engage and motivate young individuals
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
