Category Lead

to join their Procurement team. This is an opportunity to play a key role within a highly respected organisation recognised for engineering excellence and innovation.

About the Role:

As Category Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering category strategies for direct or indirect spend portfolios valued between 30m and 50m. Reporting to the Head of Category Management, you'll lead end-to-end Source-to-Contract (S2C) and Requisition-to-Pay (R2P) activities that deliver tangible value and mitigate risk across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and execution of strategic category plans aligned to business and NPD needs. Deliver sourcing and contracting strategies that drive both hard and soft benefits. Negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and performance standards. Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Finance, and Design to optimise value and ensure supply continuity. Monitor KPIs including savings, contract coverage, and supplier performance metrics.

What We're Looking For:

A minimum of 5 years' proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong commercial acumen with expertise in procurement, supply chain operations, and supplier negotiations. Proficiency in ERP/S2P systems and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word). CIPS qualification and/or relevant degree in Business or Engineering. A confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
