catering assistant
at Brighton Congress Hall Cafe.
Job Summary:
Assist with the catering operations within the Cafe/Coffee Shop including the preparation and serving of meals and drinks, and the cleaning of catering equipment to ensure a high standard of service to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be working with the Corps Officer, staff and volunteers, and together help to develop a food and service program which best serves local needs.
Receive customer payments and use the cash register and assist with the cashing up at the end of the day as directed.
Assist with the preparation of food such as peeling, trimming or washing food hygienically so it is ready to be cooked
Take customer orders accurately and serve customers in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner
Clean and clear tables promptly to create a clean and welcoming environment.
Assist with the cleaning of the Cafe.
Use and clean kitchen appliances safely and responsibly.
Have an awareness of Fire, Health and Safety Regulations.
Successful candidate will have:
Experience of preparing food and cleaning food preparation areas along with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and our customers.
Ability to work within a team as well as working alone at times.
Current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to attain within agreed time scale
