Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a strong background in catering and food preparation. This role involves working closely with our catering team to ensure that all events are executed flawlessly, providing exceptional service to our clients and guests.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items for various events, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. Serve food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner, demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Collaborate with the catering team to set up and dismantle event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, and serving stations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the catering area, ensuring all equipment is properly stored after use. Support the team during events by responding promptly to guest requests and ensuring their needs are met. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of food supplies and reporting any shortages to the supervisor. Contribute ideas for menu planning and event themes based on current trends in the hospitality industry.

Requirements

Previous experience in catering or hospitality is preferred, with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices is essential. Experience in a restaurant environment or as a barista is advantageous. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality service delivery.
