Job Title: Catering Assistant

Location: Colchester Institute, Sheepen Road, Colchester, CO3 3LL

Additional Site: Braintree Institute (occasional requirement)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 20 hours per week

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Shift Times: Between 09:30 - 13:30

Salary: 12.21 per hour / 8,480.33 annually (Pro Rata)

Working Weeks: 31 working weeks, 34.727 paid weeks

About the Role

We're looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Colchester Institute. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Serve food and beverages to customers, ensuring portioning, presentation, and combinations meet brand standards Answer customer questions about menu items and ingredients Prepare basic cold food and made-to-order items, including hot deli and live action stations Handle payments and maintain accurate financial records

A positive attitude and a passion for food service Ability to work well in a team and independently Basic food preparation skills Enhanced DBS check required
