In the heart of Glasgow's city centre, the campus buzzes with cafes, restaurants, and self?service counters spread across multiple buildings. As a Catering Assistant, you'll be the welcoming face of this lively dining scene--serving guests, keeping counters stocked, and ensuring every interaction feels warm and efficient. Working Monday to Friday, this role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in busy spaces, and takes pride in delivering great service every day.

Responsibilities:



Ensure the food and drink offer is the first choice for our customers when they are seeking refreshment and fuel

Receive, process, prepare and deliver food and drink orders and experiences

Keep the service and back of house areas in a clean and safe condition

Deliver an experience, more so than just a service. Be an entertainer!

Stay on top of trends and discuss these with your manager

Know the offer inside out, and be able to make informed recommendations to our clients

Pre-empt the needs of our customers and create meaningful and memorable service moments

Maintain a high-profile front of house and be aware of what's happening during service, and effectively resolve any challenges always ensuring colleague and customer satisfaction

Keep our colleagues and the Barclays colleagues, visitors', and clients safe with our safety-first mentality while they are in our care, using the safety tools available to you

Oversee the standard and quality of all food & drink; you and the service team will serve as the final quality check for everything that is served and delivered to our customers. If it isn't right, we change it!

Keep your ear close to the ground! Tell us what the customer wants and how we keep our clients happy and coming back. Shout about your successes!

To support the management team to be always audit ready and achieve the highest possible standard, e.g., finance, HS, FS, internal inspections, etc

To drive a 'One Team' Culture, provision of an integrated service.

Requirements:



Experience delivering a range of premium coffee within hospitality/retail

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Good time management, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

Customer service skills

Calm and logical, professional mind set

Effective communication skills at all levels

Strong team player with the ability to work independently

Motivated, committed and flexible
