Catering Assistant (FlexiBank)




We've got a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our team at One Hatfield Hospital.


Reporting to the Catering Lead, the successful Catering Assistant will be responsible for ensuring excellent catering services are delivered to patients and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner.

Please note: this is a FlexiBank role working on an 'as and when required' basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during periods of annual leave or absence.




This role will include working within our Kitchen and Ward areas as required. The duties will include:

Set up or close down of our Kitchen, including opening and closing stock To ensure the cold and hot serveries are maintained with fresh food Use of tills and cash handling including opening and closing tills Ensuring that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy Disposal of waste General cleaning of the food areas Preparation of patients meals Cooking duties

Qualifications



GCSE Maths and English or equivalent Food Safety Level 2 certificate

Skills



Patient and customer focused Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people at all levels

Desirables



Previous food service experience Experience of working in a private healthcare environment Catering experience at front of house An understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment of patient safety.
