Job summary



To assist staff in the day to day running of the Care Home and to maintain high standards of appearance, hygiene, cleanliness and service within the pantry and dining areas for the benefit of residents, relatives, visitors and other members of staff.

We are currently looking for Bank Staff to replace long serving colleagues that have now completed their college education and will be moving on. Expected availability would be college holidays Easter, Summer and Christmas - occasional weekend shifts during term time may also be available. Our working patterns are as below please indicate your preference or availability on application and indication of available hours:

Weekly hours are 5 days out of 7 on a shift rota basis. Daily working hours are a mixture of early and late shifts. Early shifts are 7am to 2.30pm. Late shifts are 10.30am to 6pm.

A clear security check from Disclosure Scotland and two satisfactory references are essential.

Qualifications & Skills.



Currently studying a social care course desirable. Genuine interest in working in a care environment. Good communication skills. Good team player.

Responsibilities and duties



Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors and staff. Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of the pantry area and dining areas are always of the highest standard. Set up dining areas for residents' mealtimes. Clear dining areas after meals. Assist in the serving of residents' meals. Prepare trays as required for those residents who are served meals in their rooms. Wash dishes after mealtimes and tea/coffee times. Prepare and serve tea/coffee trays for guests of residents and for internal meetings. Clean equipment with particular attention to guidelines covering the control of germs and infestation. Deal with waste bags and refuse bags in a way that is consistent with their prescribes disposal. Carry out general housekeeping, laundry and cleaning duties as required. Report any malfunction of equipment. Promote the independence and dignity of residents. Follow health & safety policies for the Home, including COSHH policies and procedures. Participate in any in-house and external training identified in relation to your role. Attend staff meetings as required.
