Catering Assistant
to join our Estates and Facilities team. This is a hands-on role where you'll support the daily operations of our catering service, helping to deliver high-quality food and a welcoming experience for students, staff, and visitors.
You'll assist with food preparation, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure excellent customer service across our catering outlets. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
Vacancy 1: 25 hours a week (9am-2pm Monday to Friday), 35 weeks per year. This post is based in North Lindsey College (Scunthorpe)
Actual Salary: 13,428.86 per annum
Vacancy 2: 30 hours a week (8am-2pm Monday to Friday), 36 week per year. This post is based in Doncaster College.
Actual Salary: 16,573.10 per annum
Essential Criteria
Relevant Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to work towards)
Experience in food preparation, cooking, and service
Customer service and cash handling experience
Smart, clean appearance and professional manner
Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing food, snacks, and drinks within catering facilities
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas
Provide prompt and efficient service to customers
Support students on placement and contribute to team development
Report customer feedback and complaints to the Catering Manager
Participate in training and personal development activities
Work flexibly across college sites as required
Contribute to departmental planning and self-assessment

The LET's Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
