Job Description

Would you like to be part of a small friendly team, dedicated to providing a great service to our pupils, staff and visitors? All Hallows School (part of the Monkton Family of Schools) is looking to appoint a Catering Assistant As part of this role you will be a friendly face during mealtimes and functions, assisting with the service of food to the pupils and staff at the school, with specific responsibility for the standard of cleanliness and hygienic operation of the kitchen, dining room and associated areas, including the cleanliness of light and heavy equipment and utensils.

What you'll do:



Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages to pupils, staff and visitors. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation, dining, and service areas. Wash, clean, and store kitchen utensils, dishes, and equipment. Replenish food and beverage supplies as required. Follow food safety and health regulations, including proper food handling and storage. Support kitchen staff and chefs with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., chopping vegetables, plating meals). Provide courteous and efficient service to customers, responding to requests or dietary needs. Dispose of waste safely and follow recycling or composting procedures. Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation.

What you'll have:



Strong attention to hygiene and food safety standards. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively. Friendly, helpful attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or evenings. Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent (desirable not essential). Experience in catering, hospitality, or food service (desirable not essential).

Hours



35 Hours per week 37 weeks per year 2 week rota every other weekend off
