About the Role
We are recruiting
experienced Catering Assistants
to support the catering operation at
Pinderfields Hospital
, one of the Trust's busiest sites.
This is a
high?volume, fast?paced role
with a
split focus between food handling and front?of?house service
. The department serves
approximately 2,500-5,000 customers per day
, so applicants must be comfortable working at speed while maintaining high standards of service, food safety and cleanliness.
This role is offered via
NHS Professionals (NHSP)
on a
temporary bank basis
to cover vacancies. While this is not a guaranteed permanent role,
many previous NHSP workers have successfully progressed into substantive Trust positions
.
Key Responsibilities
Working in
busy food service areas
, including counters and tills
Delivering
efficient, customer?facing service
during peak periods
Supporting
high?volume catering operations
, including food preparation and regeneration
Operating
barista coffee machines
(experience desirable)
Maintaining strict standards of
food hygiene, temperature control, monitoring and record?keeping
Ensuring service and kitchen areas meet
high cleaning and compliance standards
Working flexibly across different catering functions as required
Essential Experience
To be successful in this role, you
must
have previous experience in a
busy, high?volume catering or service environment
, such as:
Busy Coffee bars
Fast Pace Restaurants or pubs
Contract catering or large?scale food outlets
Similar fast?paced service operations
Both service experience (tills, counters, customer interaction) and catering/food?handling experience are equally important.
Essential Requirements
Level 2 Food Safety / Food Hygiene Certificate
Good understanding of food hygiene, safety and compliance
Physically fit and able to work in a demanding environment
Reliable transport and availability to work
early starts, weekends and bank holidays
Good spoken and written English
