We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Business Supervisor to join our team at Edsential. In this important role, you will assist in maintaining the high standards of our catering services while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and customers.


You will be based in schools across Cheshire/Wirral/Halton/Flintshire. A valid UK driving Licence is required for this role.


Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Head of Catering/Business Manager in conducting relevant service checks to ensure quality standards across individual kitchens. Carry out Risk Assessments to provide a safe catering service in accordance with health and safety regulations. Supervise and train new staff in food production and service methods, while managing work rotas and maintaining accurate documentation, including cash records and Cypad usage. Support the team in meeting food and productivity targets while implementing action plans to uphold company standards. Promote our catering services and build strong customer relationships, including catering for special events outside contracted hours. Act as an ambassador for Edsential, helping to create a vibrant and enjoyable work environment aligned with our mission and values.



Ideal Candidate:

NVQ Level 2 in food preparation or equivalent and Food Safety Level 2 are essential. Experience in a catering environment, including staff supervision. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships. Sound understanding of health & safety legislation, School Food Standards, and food allergies/intolerances. Proficient in administration tasks, including stocktaking and ordering. Reliable, punctual, and flexible with a great eye for detail. Strong communication and organisational abilities.
