Job description
We are currently looking for a very experienced, organised and
dynamic Manager
to run our hugely successful, 700 seat dining offer at the flagship Gates Oakham.
This exciting opportunity offers the successful candidate the chance to help direct the customer dining experience in the Garden Restaurant, the Courtyard Coffee Shop and new hospitality experiences as we develop them around our growing retail destination.
Responsibilities:
Efficient management of The Garden Restaurant and Courtyard Coffee Shop including kitchen and front of house teams.
To manage, motivate and develop a team of up to 60 staff to deliver a high standard of food preparation, service and outstanding customer care.
Ensuring all food is prepared to a high standard as per company policy and current legislation.
Deliver an exceptional service to customers at all times.
Implement and maintain the statutory and company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as necessary.
Order supplies, manage stock and control wastage.
Manage staffing including rotas, holidays and absences, always ensuring sufficient cover.
Help with the hiring and training of new staff.
About You:
Extensive hands-on front and back of house management experience in a high-quality busy retailing/restaurant or catering environment.
A hands-on manager or supervisor looking for the next step in your career, with exceptionally high standards of customer service expertise willing to manage the back office but also work customer facing
Experience in a high-volume operation.
Staff management, recruitment and training experience.
Excellent interpersonal and management skills to co-ordinate with the kitchen and front of house teams.
Fully conversant with food hygiene regulations, and relevant Health and Safety legislation.
A keen eye for cost-control, budgeting, profitability and efficiency.
A keenness to be involved in menu preparation and the creative development of the catering offer, both in the current dining locations plus future developments
Experience of purchasing and stock control.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good Microsoft skills covering email, Word and Excel.
Previous experience as a chef is not necessary, but you must have a passion for food.
Hours:
Full Time, 5 days out of 7.
As the restaurant is open only during Garden Centre hours, there is no requirement to work evenings or split shifts. Hours do vary over the Christmas period.
Due to the nature of the business, the successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach to working hours, especially weekends and Bank Holidays, as these are our busiest times.
