I am currently seeking an experienced and motivated Catering supervisor or Chef to lead our schools based catering team in the
Sandwell
area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the kitchen.
Key Details:
25 working hours a week.
PAY 13.00 - 13.50
May periodically be asked to work at other kitchens.
Enhanced DBS with Child & Adult, required. or (willingness to obtain one)
2 years practical cooking experience in large scale catering. Experience of supervising staff
Ability to complete paperwork and ordering of provisions. A good Standard of Verbal and written English Language
Key Responsibilities:
Adhering to planned menus, recipes and written policies and procedures, the preparation, cooking and serving of main meals including vegetables and sauces, puddings and other similar provisions. To provide quality meals to all customers.
Customer care and pupil liaison. Co-operation with Head Teachers and Supervisory assistance with regard to the dining experience.
Compilation of work rotas for staff and the supervision of all kitchen staff. Induction and instructing of new staff as necessary.
All administrative work in connection with the running of the kitchen, including menu planning, food ordering, stock control, daily record sheets, food costing, staff attendance returns and reporting of breakdowns/repairs to premises and equipment. Supervision of hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring that HACCP standards are maintained.
Assisting and supervising of setting up and cleaning the dining area before and after meals, moving furniture as necessary.
Responsible for the handling of cash, counting cash takings and transporting cash to the school office for banking.
