This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate how they will manage these travel requirements.
An exciting opportunity has arisen due to maternity cover, for a fixed term contract or secondment for one year into our evolving service.
The post holder will be part of our Team and will provide high intensity interventions in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to our complex yet rewarding to work with client group.
The post holder will work with client's who have a range of difficulties related to their eating difficulties for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.
Main duties of the job
To provide high intensity evidence based psychological interventions to clients of the Eating disorder service within secondary care; providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-CBT colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
As well as holding a caseload of clients the post holder will clinically supervise other CBT Therapists and Trainee CBT Therapists. Providing guidance and advice to supervisees on patient treatment, onward referrals and caseload management. The post holder has no line management responsibilities.
They will also support the clinical lead in managing the waitlists for the service and allowing smooth throughput for our clients by appropriate referral acceptance and allocation.

  • Post Graduate Diploma level qualification in Psychological Therapies Practice (High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) or equivalent
  • BABCP accredited
  • Good record of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue this
  • Formal training in and experience of providing clinical supervision

  • Demonstrate experience of working in mental health settings with clients who present with a range of mental health issues.
  • Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets by management of own caseload and time
