Newport City Council (NCC) provides a critical role in providing CCTV and related services to assist in Community Safety and supports Gwent Police and other partners in the prevention and detection of crime.
Under the direction of the CCTV Manager, the role involves the supervision of CCTV operators undertaking monitoring and other duties within the CCTV room on a daily basis; ensuring sufficient numbers of staff are on duty and ensure daily tasks are allocated to individual operators.
This is a challenging opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who relishes working in a team environment with a passion for Community Safety.
Being part of a friendly, hardworking and supportive team, you will undertake a range of duties including:
Ensure that sufficient staff are on duty throughout the 24-hour period to meet demand and arranging staff to come on duty at relevant times.
Maintain a 12 month rolling shift rota in accordance with current policy to include leave requests and training requirements.
Provide a monthly update to the CCTV Manager on the performance of the CCTV room, to include any issues of concern including IT maintenance.
Provide advice, guidance and support to all staff on operational procedures and incident management and to undertake performance review meetings with staff and return to work interviews following sick leave.
To represent the CCTV Manager at public and internal meetings as required
You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
