Role Overview
You will advise and support clients and internal clients in providing expert guidance on health, safety, and risk management throughout all phases of construction projects--ensuring compliance, reducing risks, and promoting safe project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
CDM Compliance & Advisory
Advise clients, Principal Designers on their duties under CDM Regulations.
Support YMD Boon project teams in producing and reviewing project documentation (design information, risk assessments, construction phase plans, pre-construction information).
Design Risk Management
Work with design teams to identify, eliminate, or reduce foreseeable risks at the planning and design stages.
Pre-Construction Information (PCI)
Compile, review, and manage PCI packages for tendering and construction.
Ensure information is accurate, complete, and distributed to relevant parties in a timely manner.
Construction Phase Support
Assess Construction Phase Plans to ensure they are suitably developed in accordance with requirements of CDM regulations.
Provide site-based audits and inspections to verify adherence to CDM requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to promote clear communication regarding CDM responsibilities.
Attend project meetings and contribute to risk assessments, planning sessions, and compliance updates.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare CDM compliance reports, site audit reports, and action plans.
Maintain accurate project records and ensure all statutory documents are completed.
Training & Best Practice
Deliver CDM awareness training to internal staff and external stakeholders.
Keep updated with changing legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
In-depth understanding of CDM Regulations.
Experience in construction health and safety.
Minimum of NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
Proactive and solution-focused.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Able to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
Confident working independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and risk-analysis abilities.
Desirable
Membership of IOSH, APS, or similar professional body.
Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams.
